Overview

Everest Forge - Filipino Bicuco Sword

This Filipino Bicuco Sword is crafted by Everest Forge of Nepal and features a thick 5160 high carbon steel blade that is capable of powerful cuts, chops and sweeping slashes. The blade has a thick and rigid spine that runs half its length before terminating in a long and sharpened false edge. Its bolster and ferrule are made from steel and the grip is finely polished wood. Its tang runs the full length of the handle and is peened over a steel pommel cap. The sword is matched with a wooden scabbard with reinforcing steel banding and a leather frog with belt loop and side rings.

Blade itself is very satisfactory, fit and finish is better than expected, is a bit heavy for the type of blade it is , but will just need to be gotten used to. Sheath is another story, as the brass bands were coming off during unwrapping the packing material off, straight out of the box. This will be remedied by myself with more traditional wrapping around the sheath. All in all I’m pleased, but not about having to rework the sheath straight out of the delivery box

The Maker

Everest Forge

At Everest Forge, craftsmanship is not just a skill — it’s a tradition carried forward by generations of blacksmiths. Every sword,  kukri , machete, or knife we produce is hand-forged with meticulous care, using age-old techniques that ensure strength, precision, and beauty. We don’t just shape steel — we forge legacy.

Our forging process begins with the soul of our blades — 5160 high carbon leaf spring steel. Revered for its durability, resilience, and edge retention, this steel allows us to produce blades that are tough enough for field use, yet elegant enough to be admired.

Each blade is shaped through fire, hammer, and muscle — not machines. Our smiths rely on intuition and experience, guided by heat and rhythm, to form every curve, taper, and bevel. This isn’t factory production. This is craftsmanship forged in fire. We operate as a  Forging House , not a factory. That means every craftsman at Everest Forge is invested in the outcome of every single piece. It’s not about mass production — it’s about legacy, integrity, and honor in every blade.
