Five Lobed Viking Stage Combat Sword - New Model - Stage Combat Version - Deepeeka - Munitions Grade
The new version of the Five Lobed Viking Sword is an improvement on a model with a classic Viking style hilt. The sword has improved blade geometry and distal taper to make it lighter and more manageable whilst retaining enough of a thick edge for contact edge-on-edge stage combat use. The blade is crafted from tempered C60 (similar to 1060) high carbon steel with a hardness of 48-52 HRc and a rounded tip for additional safety and durability. The forged hilt components are steel and the wooden grip is wrapped in spiralled leather. Extra effort was put forth to give the sword a two-part pommel like historical originals, with the lower part of the pommel riveted to a peened pommel cap for a tough and lasting construction.
The sword is paired with an improved wood-core scabbard which is wrapped in tight stitched leather and features a cord binding with a wooden suspension loop by which a sword belt can be knotted or slotted through for wear.
A note about blade thickness: The base of the blade is about 5.2 mm thick, the thinnest point at the termination of the fuller is about 2.9 mm thick and the raised mid ridge at the tip makes it about 3.2 mm thick at that midsection. (Measurements are approximate)
