Overview

Knud - Viking Herringbone Woven Cloth Cowl - Black and Gray

This unisex Viking Cowl is quality-crafted from a Herringbone pattern cloth - a fabric with a tight and durable weave which has been found in the remains of Viking settlements in Hedeby, Birka and York. The pattern of the cowl is based upon the Skjoldehamn Gugel which was part of the finds from an 11th century Viking burial. The hood gives encompassing protection from the elements to both the head and upper torso and would have been a welcome garment to the Viking who weathered rough conditions regularly.

The fabric used to create this herringbone coat is 60% wool, 37% polyester and 3% nylon - from Burgschneider of Germany.
