Overview
Krieger Historical Weapons - HEMA Krieger Rapier R1
This HEMA optimized Rapier from Krieger Historical Weapons of Poland took over a year and a half of development time for design and refinement, not only does it have an excellent flexing blade for sparring and tournament, but care was taken to give the blade and ricasso a size needed to fit well with thin gloves without becoming awkward in shape or losing essential ergonomics.Â
The 41 inch blade is crafted from 50 HF steel with a 48-50 HRc hardness; it measures at 6.5 kg of flex when measured with pressure on a floor scale (Scale Method). It has a rolled tip for safety and durable, rebated edges. The ricasso is shaped and bound for a comfortable handhold when fingering the guard for control and the inside of the cup is lined with durable felt. The guard and pommel are steel and the tough molded synthetic grip is shaped and sized for control and comfort.

The Maker
Krieger Historical Weapons
Krieger Historical Weapons was founded in Poland by a group of archeology enthusiasts and historical fencers. Their historical knowledge has allowed them to produce replicas of ancient weapons with a very high level of historical reliability. With an ever growing reputation for quality and reliability, the swords of Krieger Historical Weapons continue to impress beginning and experienced HEMA practitioners alike.Â
In recent years Krieger has focused on meeting the specific needs of the Historical Martial Arts community, which is looking for weapons that are both historically accurate and capable of withstanding intense combat while reducing blade wear and the risk of injury. Equally important are the recipients of historical replicas, for whom we take care of every detail, trying to provide the widest offer tailored to every taste.
Krieger has developed real technological innovations that take advantage of modern material improvements, such as an indestructible synthetic grip or unique blade processing, which make their weapons exceptionally resistant to time and very pleasant to use. Aesthetics and design are equally important, which is why they ensure that each product is of the highest standard.
