Additional information

In Japanese folklore, a Koi which swims upstream and jumps its way up a waterfall to reach the water’s source will be transformed into a dragon. Thus the strong-swimming Koi is known as a symbol of perseverance and a destiny fulfilled and was a popular inspiration motif for many samurai. The Golden Koi Katana has a blade finished with an iridescent gold hue. The sharp and tempered blade is forged from 1045 high carbon steel. The sword is durably mounted into a hilt with an antique brass finished tsuba and paired with fuchi and kashira fittings of gold hue metal. The wooden grip is fitted with panels of faux rayskin and is bound in black knotted ito cord.

The sword is paired with a wooden saya scabbard with a gold-flecked glossy orange lacquer finish and a black sageo cord. Included is a cloth sword bag for transport and storage.
