Thin Bladed Gladius - Deepeeka
Particularly unique among Gladii is this example with a thin and sharply tapered blade in lieu of the traditional, more parallel sword blade. The blade radically tapers to an acute tip which was probably purpose-designed to pierce mail armor with ease and to find the gaps in plate armor where it could be used to both slip in between plates, or pry one apart should it find purchase. The blade is forged from C60 high carbon steel.
This unorthodox blade is fitted into a wooden Gladius hilt crafted from carved and polished wood. The sword is matched with a wooden scabbard which is bound in quality, dyed vegetable tanned leather and encased in a protective brass frame and finished with hanging rings of brass.
