The Swordier Budget Line Type XIIa Hand-and-a-Half Longsword is a versatile and affordable interpretation of a classic medieval fighting sword, blending practical cutting performance with balanced handling. Forged from well-tempered 65Mn spring steel, the blade geometry leans toward cutting performance with a profile taper that allows for effective thrusts as well. A weight-reducing fuller runs much of the blade’s length, reducing overall mass while enhancing balance and handling characteristics. The blade measures almost 34 inches and when combined with the sword’s 3 lbs 5 oz weight and a point of balance around 4.5 inches from the guard it strikes a refined equilibrium between agility and forward presence. This balance profile lets the sword move quickly in the hand while still carrying the mass required for decisive cuts and strong commitment in the bind.
