Swordier- Upgraded Type XVIIIc Sword with Wide Cutting Blade
Swordier's upgraded version of the Type XVIIIc Longsword has been designed for improved cutting performance and handling; its broader blade base and improved distal taper improve its profile for optimizing cutting and shifting balance more favorably for the bearer. The sword has an authoritative heft in the hand and its wide and flat 32.75 inch blade with a diamond shape cross section is designed to bite into a target and cleanly slice through it with the cut powered with the mass in the blade behind it for forceful cuts. At approximately 3 lbs 9 oz in weight the sword is favorably balanced at just over 4 inches above the guard. It is an good choice for a backyard cutting workhorse or simply a fetching sword on its own for display or expanding a collection.
The blade is forged from 65 Mn steel which is well tempered, polished to a high level of reflectivity and finished with a sharp cutting edge. The guard and pommel are crafted from stainless steel and the 6 inch wooden grip is finished with a tight wrap of stitched leather. A robust, quadrangular peen over the scent-stopper style pommel anchors the tang into the hilt for a strong overall construction. Included with the sword is a wooden scabbard bound in matching leather and capped with a stainless steel chape and a belt of thin faux leather.
