Medieval Antennae daggers have a long history and were used for centuries, spanning the 11th to 14th centuries. This replica of one by Tod Cutler has a stiff, diamond cross section blade of tempered EN45 high carbon steel. The guard and pommel are of steel with brass inserts and the grip is finely polished wood. The blade tang is sturdily anchored over the pommel with a squared peen. The dagger is paired with a scabbard of high quality vegetable tanned leather in a stitched double layer construction which is completed with a brass cap and integrated leather lacing for wear.

The quillon dagger, a quintessential example of medieval European weaponry, spans from the 11th to the 14th centuries. Known by various names such as Antennae, Aunlaz, or Anelace, this dagger is celebrated for its distinctive crossguard design. Historical depictions of this iconic weapon can be found in the Hrabanus Maurus manuscript from late the 11th century, the Maciejowski Bible from the mid-13th century, and a notable example in the Royal Armouries in Leeds, dated to the late 14th century (X1302).
