Tod Cutler – Bowie Knife

(1 customer review)

$144.00

Though an icon of the American frontiersman and pioneer, most Bowie knife blades were actually made in Sheffield, England and were a major import by the mid 19th century. This Bowie Knife takes its form from the famous Sheffield Bowies and like the originals it was also made in England by Tod Cutler. The English cutlers understood their customers and market well and produced large amounts of high quality steel blades with durable spines and elongated clipped false edge tips.

The blade of this recreation is forged from high carbon steel; the guard is steel and the grip is constructed with a robust full tang assembly by triple riveting two wood grip scales directly to the thick blade tang. Included is a stitched sheath of brown leather with a belt loop and leather grip tie cords. Most of the photos show an example with a brown sheath. The last photo shows examples in some of the other sheath colors available.

Please Note: If the sharpening option is selected we will sharpen the false edge by default. If you wish for the false edge to remain unsharpened please indicate your preference in the ”special instructions” box when ordering.

Most excellent as usual for a TC. It’s tied for favorite with TCUS7 – Scandinavian Seax/War Knife, and TC5 – a Brokenback Seax.
