A new record for three reviews in one! Focusing on short swords, and our own Devil’s Edge….
Mine (the Cobra Steel Lakonia) came last week. I bought this one, the United “combat Commander” and the Devils Edge Damascus Qama. Ok- by way of comparison, this one is shortest, the Devils Edge is longest, and the United CC split the difference. I really like all 3-no doubt. The United CC is thinner than the other two, metal-wise, and lighter. It being 1060 or whatever means it should be plenty tough – I don’t abuse my stuff. But yes- this one is my fave. The Devils Edge is gorgeous- prettier than I thought it’d be. Grip is fine, and the protruding studs on the one side make a GREAT place for your thumb, actually giving you more control of the blade tip. I have several swords besides these 3 “beaters” and I get SO sick of oiling them up. I have one from Zombie Tools, the 2 handed xiphos. I cut the s–t outa my hand, got 40+ stitches (last time I left it outa the sheath- lesson learned), but the wife put it in the scabbard, not me. I forgot about it. Now it’s rusty. It’s surface, it’ll rub-out mostly, n I like it, kinda. Point, though, I this one is stainless. Don’t worry- it’s small enough well tempered enough not to break-least mine hasn’t. Hope all that helped sum1. Buy whichever u like most. You CAN’T lose w/em this low-priced.
