Overview
Cold Steel - Bolo Machete with Sheath - 18'' Blade
A classic machete of the Pacific Rim, this Bolo machete is a tried-and-true design for making short work of dense vegetation and is a suitable companion for camp duties and bushcraft. The blade is 1055 High Carbon Steel which has been finished with a baked on, black powder finish to give it good resistance to rusting.
The grip is durable and practical polypropylene and the machete comes with a core-ex nylon sheath with a hardened polypropylene tip and buttoned retaining straps.

The Maker
Cold Steel
Cold Steel was founded in 1980; a stalwart of the knife community, Cold Steel also has a large selection of swords and daggers which are sourced from all over the world. Functional and competitively priced, Cold Steel products showcase a substantial variety of offerings and they cover martial arts weapons, historical swords, and robust tomahawks and practical machetes.
Often paired together

I love this blade! I have a couple products from Cold Steel, two other machetes and the Small Sword, and I am a fan of theirs. The bolo machete is a fantastic hacker and light enough to control the strike with a good consistency. The handle nub (proper name not known to me) is great about keeping the handle in hand while really chopping in. Blade is not the best at edge retention, expect to clean it up after any hard uses, but with the price you will not be shy about any jobs you have to do.
