Musha Damascus Dynasty Katana
This Damascus sword blade, with a pattern akin to marble, is created by mixing multiple types of steel together in a single blade, folded, heated and pounded back together several times. It gives a damascened blade a unique, fingerprint-like design. The process will create hundreds to thousands of layers within the metal. The tsuba and fittings on this sword are made from oxidized brass, giving it an antiquated patina. The black cotton tsuka-ito is wrapped over rayskin with dragon menuki sandwiched between. The blade is double-pegged into the tsuka and can be disassembled. The saya scabbard is black lacquer with a matching black sageo cord. The sword comes within a cloth-covered gift box. A small wooden box containing a cleaning kit is included.

Great sword! I received the Musashi Damascus Dynasty katana today and I am very impressed so far. The sword is in perfect condition! The storage box it comes in has a patterned red covering over most of the outside, except for the “bottom” portion (the part that would be hidden when setting the storage box down and opening it to take the sword out). The sword itself is in a cloth bag inside the storage box. The bag seems to be of decent quality, and is something I would carry the sword in when going to and coming from Kendo class. It is a black bag with white interior fabric. The sword also comes with a cleaning kit consisting of oil, powder, a little brass hammer, and the various clothes used to remove oil and spread new oil onto the blade.
The blade of the sword looks like folded steel and has a nice patterning to it. Reminds me of wood grain on a nice slice of pine. The fittings feel dense and of high quality, not cheaply formed metal. The weight and balance of the sword is great, it is easy to maneuver and feels like it is well suited to the various kata that Kendo uses. For $164.95 with shipping and tax, I feel like this is money well spent.
