English Tourney Close Helm - 14 Gauge - Deepeeka
This Close Helm is crafted from 14 gauge steel; it is well-articulated with a pivoting visor and the articulated neck plates which keep the helm from obstructing the movement of the head and neck. The entire face of the helm can be swiveled upward to allow it to be easily fitted to the head. The interior of the helm is both blackened and un-lined.
A product of the late Medieval and early Renaissance, the Close Helm shares an appearance that is, at a glance, quite similar to the Armet. The notable difference between the two is that the front half of the Armet opens laterally when fitting it to the head, whereas the front half of the close-helm opens vertically.

Excelent Helmet This helmet is great for SCA. I would recommend re-coating the inside as the black paint is known to peel by just cleaning off the oil. This helm can also take a hit and functions well. I added a push pin that secures the visor and a strap to keep helmet closed. Modifying this helm is worth it rather than buying an expensive helm of the same style.
The helmet is indeed of EXCELLENT quality. It WILL need modified for SCA purposes. The grill’s gaps are all larger than an inch. It will need a way to stay close.
The inner brow circumference is 24 inches. So the size is actually runs small.
