Overview
Fabri Armorum - HEMA Longsword
Please Note: The color / hue of the grip wraps can vary. In the case of brown it can vary from a light tan to a very dark brown
This longsword from Fabri Armorum is crafted for HEMA classroom and tournament use with its tough construction and rounded and rebated tip for safety. The sword strikes a good balance between flex and balance in order to make a sword that functions, feels and moves like a sharp longsword in the hand yet is safe for sparring and practice. The blade is tempered to a 50 HRc hardness to strike a good balance between durability, resilience and wear-resistance and is tempered to the "medium" flex option that Fabri Armorum offers in order to make it suitable for the widest selection of tournaments and classroom use (Max pressure 11-12 kg).
The guard and pommel are steel and the grip is bound in leather. The sword has a solid overall construction with a brazed and welded pommel making a secure connection with the blade tang. The steel used for the blade 54SiCr6 (14260 ÄŒSN) is typically used in industrial settings for components such as performance train suspension or valve springs in engines that are exposed to high, repetitive impact stress.
