Overview
Vegvisir Shield Raw Hide Edging Viking Shield - Deepeeka
This Viking shield is boldly emblazoned with the Vegvisir, the Icelandic runic stave that brings its bearer home to harbor safely from the turbulent tempests of the sea. A fitting symbol for a Viking shield, bringing its warrior home not just from the dangers of the briny deeps, but from the storms and turmoil of war.
Crafted from tough 1/2" thick (13 mm) plywood, the shield is rimmed in tightly stitched rawhide and its riveted steel shield boss is antiqued for a weather-worn appearance. Three riveted wooden bars on the reverse reinforce the shield, with a leather-wrapped center on the middle one providing a secure handhold. The shield is as ready for war and raid as it is for adorning your feast hall!
