Overview

Regenyei - Short Feder - Medium Flex with Spatulated Tip

This version of the Regenyei Short Feder has a spatulate tip instead of the rolled tip for those who prefer the spatulate tip for sparring, training and tournament. Designed by Finnish HEMA champion Eliisa Keskinen, this Short Feder is particularly well suited to longsword traditions such as those of Fiore dei Liberi, where a shorter blade can complement the techniques and proportions of the system. Its compact dimensions also make it a practical choice for younger or smaller practitioners.

The blade is made from 51CrV4 high-carbon spring steel and tempered to approximately 49–51 HRC. These examples are fitted with Regenyei’s Medium Feder flexibility, offering a balanced combination of durability, controlled flexibility, sparring safety, and lively handling. At a 10 cm bend, the blade exerts approximately 11.5–13 kg of pressure. Despite its thick, blunt edges for increased safety and durability, the feder remains light and responsive in the hand, while the back-rolled tip provides additional protection during thrusting exercises. The heat-treated steel guard and pommel are paired with a wooden grip tightly bound in cord for a secure and comfortable hold. A dependable all-rounder, the Short Feder is a great choice for HEMA.
