This version of the 12th Century Holy Land sword has thick, blunted edges and a rounded tip to make it suitable for sport and stage combat and its thicker edges are not only for safety, but also to allow the sword to stand up to repetitive blade on blade contact with a level of intensity and longevity that thin-bladed swords cannot match. The well tempered blade is crafted from C60 (similar to 1060) high carbon steel and its crossguard and pommel are of resilient mild steel. The grip is wood with a tight wrap of quality leather and the blade is securely mounted into the hilt with a robust peen over the pommel.

The sword comes with an well crafted and attractive traditional scabbard that is handcrafted from wood and wrapped in stitched high quality vegetable tanned leather to match the sword grip. It has a wooden scabbard slide secured with tight leather banding to allow for the sword to be slung from a baldric or belt.
