Additional information

This Kukri differs from the other Kukri machete by Cold Steel by having a longer blade; While the other Kukri is in a form familiar to the fighting knives of the Gurkhas, this one has a form that takes after the working Kukuris that can be seen clearing brush in rural Nepal or chopping produce in the marketplace.

The blade is of slightly sharpened 1055 high carbon steel that has been given a blackened outer layer to protect the machete from rust to make it a low-maintenance tool. It is fitted into a grip of textured polypropylene with a pre-drilled hole for the addition of a lanyard. It comes with a Core-Ex Nylon sheath with a hard protective tip, belt loop and buttoned retention straps.

Seems to fill the bill. I bought this for a family member, they seemed impressed with the quality for the price. The blade did come with a small imperfection on the blade but it only slightly affected the aesthetics. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cheap, functional machete/kukri.

Great recommend to anyone looking for a machete I bought this around a year ago and its great. I use it all the time when i’m clearing trails in the forest. There’s two small problems though after using for an hour or so since the handles a little rough it tended to cause blisters on my hand not much of a problem though because now I just wear a glove when using it. The other problem is mine had small places wear it looked like the paint had come off near the handle right out of the box.

I’ve owned one of these for years now, and have used it for yard work and camping tasks. It’s very light weight and handy without being too front heavy. The center of balance is about four inches past the handle, making it easy to swing hard but also easy to stop. Stands up to repeated sharpening, and I was even able to modify mine for use as a draw knife by adding jimping at either end of the back strap with a simple chainsaw file. If you want to, you can even sharpen the backstrap at the tip to create a much more functional point. The sheath is nothing special, but it works well, and the hard plastic tip prevents excessive wear. Having said all of that, it’s not exactly beautiful. Mine came with some blemishes, but I fully intended to paint it anyway, so that wasn’t an issue for me. I highly recommend this as a functional machete with better than average cutting power.
