Overview
Dragon King - Hana Katana - Blemished Grade
There is a certain elegance in simplicity and a virtue in its ability to focus the mind on the essential elements; it is the spirit of the unencumbered warrior that this Katana embodies - the warrior who understands that quality craftsmanship and keen-edged purpose without excess frivolities is the balance between worlds. After all, it is best to let swordsmanship, and a well-honed blade say in action what could never be conveyed in word.
The Hana Katana by Dragon King epitomizes this principle in sober black fittings and finishings, yet cultivates a simplified cherry blossom motif in humbled fittings to transition across that line from plain and unadorned into polished elegance. The blade is forged from T10 high carbon steel with a visible hamon line adorning the blade edg which belies its differential tempering. The tsuba, fuchi and kashira hilt fittings are blackened steel and the habaki and seppa are silver.
The wooden tsuka grip is inlaid with panels of genuine rayskin and bound in knotted black tsuka-ito cord with silver cherry blossom menuki firmly fitted beneath the folds. The saya scabbard is carved to fit from wood and is coated in a textured black lacquer complete with buffalo horn fittings. A knotted sageo cord completes the saya. Included with the sword is a cloth sword bag.
