Overview
Large Viking Bearded Axe - Lord of Battles
This robust Bearded Axe has a axe head of thick high carbon steel. The axe head is left rough-polished with the exception of its edge, which has been polished and given an edge that is slightly sharpened.
The axe head is mounted to a thick haft of polished hardwood.
This sturdy axe is weighty enough to demand the use of two hands - a suitable axe for someone who wants a large-bladed bearded axe without a very long haft. Although the bearded axe is usually regarded as a weapon of war, there may well have been ones intended for camp and labor duties who would have required a much thicker axe head than the thinner war axes which are unsuitable for use against dense wood.
This axe is certainly of the more robust type - the heavy axe head will lend itself to utility use - or it may appeal itself to a warrior who wants to strike his foe with an almighty cleaving force.

I love this axe. My new axe came in today, and I love it. This thing is solid. I would have given 5 stars, but the bevel on the edge is a little off. Nothing a little work can’t fix. Love it.
Large Viking Bearded Ax I am very pleased with this ax.
As described it looks and feels like a decent wood chopper, especially for the money.
I did not use the sharpening service but probably should have. It comes with a slight edge and due to its thickness took some work with my file to make it better.
Great axe. Other then the wood, the head is really decent. Useful. Not sure i’d swing this puppy around in a battle but it does take care of trees pretty decent. Make a new handle.
Love the heft of this axe, and the sharpness from the service is perfect. Excellent tool axe, swings great, chops great.
Really good for the price. It’s decently heavy, looks great, and comes with a decent edge with the sharpening service.
*Disclaimer, I purchased and used this for chopping wood for fires and my review is based upon that*
The Axe Head: wonderful, it held a sharp edge after splitting 10+ logs. the sharpening service did a decent job.
The Handle: this is the reason I put only 3 stars, after 8 split logs it came loose and after the 10th I refused to use it because it was on the verge of falling off.
Overview and Final Words: I will be putting the axe head on a new handle and will use it this season. Would I recommend this axe? Yes! its a sturdy axe head but I would highly recommend replacing the handle.
