Overview

Musha Gakuto Katana

Gakuto commonly means educated person a reference, perhaps to the contemplative branches and golden leaves of the tsuba of this katana. The sharpened blade of this katana is made from carbon steel, and it is double peg-mounted into the tsuka handle giving its owner the option to remove the tsuka. The tsuba is zinc alloy with a charcoal patina finish. Beneath the black cotton tsuka-ito wrapping are two wise dragon menuki over faux rayskin. The saya is finished in matte black with an etched leaf design on one side. It comes with a black cotton sageo. The sword and saya come within a black cloth sword bag.

Pretty good for the pice. I bought the factory blemished sword purely for cutting. I have to say for the price it’s just about unbeatable. I will try and update more in about a week.

Pretty cheap and feels great. The only thing is that it’s not as sharp as I expected.

For the price, it is pretty good. Sturdy, well-made for the price, and balanced, this sword is the bang for your buck. The only problem I have with it is that it is pretty dull and the wrapping on the handle is already coming loose.
