Scorpion - Thai Daab Sword of Charn Chai
The Scorpion Thai Daab sword is a robustly crafted sword that excels in solid chops and hacks; it is crafted from well-tempered 1095 high carbon steel and heat treated to 57 HRc hardness. The well-contoured grip has two scales of vibrant bloodwood which is brass-riveted to the thick blade tang. A wrap of black leather completes the sword and included is a tough black leather sheath of Buffalo culatta leather with riveted construction and an integrated belt loop.
The Thai Daab sword was used as an improvised weapon against Chinese invaders more than 4000 years ago. They were developed into fighting swords and it was the most effective fighting weapon at that time. The exceptional balance allowed a high rotation speed and complex movement patterns. The grip end allowed blunt strikes as well, and the blade could be used for slashing or stabbing the opponent. The name Charn Chai originated out of Thailand and means “Good in Fighting”. As with our all our blades, this heat treated fully functional sword is extremely durable.
