Lord of Battles - Shield Boss - 12 Gauge - Antiqued, hand-hammered appearance
This heavy-duty shield boss is crafted from 12 gauge steel. Itl has been darkened for an antiqued appearance - Hammer-marks have been added to give it a roughened, hand-forged appearance. Does not come with shield mounting hardware.
Historically, a good shield boss protects the hand from attacks that may split or penetrate the wood of a shield. It also strengthens the shield overall, particularly when used in conjunction with strong metal bands over the face and rim of the shield.

great looking boss. I used this boss for my first shield and it looks great. It gives a great look to the shield and completes the look. Now I only have one issue with it and that is attaching the boss to the shield. I had to use washer to attach it because I could not find nails with a big enough head but small enough diameter to fit in it. Either way it is still a great boss and if I had put a bit more though, it would of been easier. overall a great boss.
