Russian Baklanovskaya Officer's Shashka - Universal Swords
This Russian Baklanovskaya Shashka saber is based on a original that was once in the possession of a officer in the Tsarist Imperial Russian Army. The tempered blade is forged from 1060-1065 High Carbon Steel and the iconic curve of the Shashka saber emphasizes quick cuts and slashes, particularly from horseback. Typically worn edge-up, these sabers can be unsheathed quickly with the edge already facing the foe to facilitate a fast strike right from the scabbard.
The hilt is crafted from well-cast brass and the grip is wood which is wrapped in leather and bound with twisted brass wire to complete the sword. The matching scabbard has a core of wood which is bound in black leather and complete with finely-cast brass which is full of lavish detailing, including the Imperial regalia of the Tsar. A brass hanging ring for wear completes the scabbard.

Alright here’s what I can say about this blade. When I first got it and welded it…I’m not joking when I say this but GYAAAAT it’s a heavy blade, there’s no distill taper so the blade ends up being very front heavy. And requested this blade comes unsharpened, and they weren’t joking when they stated that, because it doesn’t even have a bevel…I’d honestly say you’d have a better chance at cutting yourself with a butter knife then with this blade💔 but beside those two things it’s a very beautiful blade and nothing rattles or is lose or rusted. So overall it’s 3/5 stars for me
