Late Medieval Poleaxe - Deepeeka
This Late Medieval Poleaxe has a head forged from high carbon steel; it is riveted to a solid hardwood haft and completed with a steel spiked butt end and steel langets.
A versatile weapon, this poleaxe has all the tools needed to rend apart and bash asunder the grandest of armored defenses. A large axehead is balanced by a hammerhead with both surmounted by a armor-piercing spike. With these at his disposal, the bearer has no shortage of options and combinations for laying low the foe.
The extended langets mounted onto the haft allow the weapon to be used to safely parry bladed weapons with little fear of incurring excess damage to the haft. The quadrangular shape of the wood haft gives the weapon an improved grip in the head and helps to ensure that the weapon will not rotate on impact with the target, thus ensuring that maximum force is imparted into the target. The butt spike can be used as an additional weapon of opportunity.
Whilst most polearms were intended to be used en-masse by men of arms, poleaxes such as this were typically a knightly weapon, or a weapon used by professional men-at-arms and mercenaries. Blunted versions were often used as a tournament weapon for poleaxe-on-poleaxe events.

Axe Head is tilted and the Haft is bowed It’s well put together and a sturdy weapon but when mine got here it the wooden haft was bowed an the Axe head is tilted off center to the pole.

I cannot use this as a reenactor weapon without grinding it apart, filling the drill holes and rebuilding it myself.
It looks good. That’s about it. I was messing around and hit a cantaloupe with the axe head and it came loose. After that, one hit into a barbute (also purchased on KoA) and it broke in half. The axe part broke away from the hammer.
Great polearm. I have not had any of the problems stated above, I take they improved on the quality control or something along those lines, if there were truly any issues before. I have owned this weapon for a little over a year, regularly practicing drills and building my stamina, great for strength training, ideal for learning the “ins and outs” of a poleaxe. I am in love with the hammer, the blade coming in close second, as well as the butt spike. The weapon is an ideal weight, the weight of the head allows you to follow through and generate good power on a swing. I decided to leave the edge unsharpened, I would highly recommend you do the same if you plan on backyard bashing. A price you cannot argue with, as well as unparalleled customer service in my experience. I purchased a longsword from KOA about two-ish years ago, I purchased a shirasaya for my brother as a birthday gift shortly after. All have arrived on time and have been packaged with care, they take pride in sending you a solid product for a solid price. Would highly recommend, I feel you will be pleased with the integrity of this humble company.
