BRNH Aventail for Helm - Butted High Tensile Steel Wire Links - Lord of Battles
This chainmail aventail is intended to be fitted within a helm to provide protection for the sides and back of the head and neck. The links are sewn onto a leather strip with leather strands.
The links for this aventail are made from 16 gauge / 9 mm high tensile wire. They are simply butted together, end-to-end to close the link. The links have been left in their natural finish.
