This finely handcrafted khukuri forged in Nepal by EGKH is modeled after the Khukuri carried into WW1 by the famously tenacious Gurkha soldiers. The fighting dagger features a 12-inch blade of 5160 high carbon steel that is tempered for toughness and resilience. Though inspired by historical Khukuri, this recreation is fully functional and capable of fully delivering on the famously ferocious chopping and cutting that the Khukuri is renowned for. Its full-tang construction ensures impressive durability, making it equally at home as a display piece or a capable blade for backyard test cutting.

The tang and blade are forged from a single, continuous piece of steel to provide the strongest possible build, and the hilt is finished with polished wooden grip scales that are securely riveted in place. The scabbard is carved from wood, wrapped in stitched leather, and fitted with a metal chape and belt loop. Included with the knife are the traditional companion tools: the Karda utility knife and the Chakmak sharpening tool—both long-standing accessories that complete the classic khukuri ensemble.

    1. Jeff Wong (verified owner)

This kukri is very well made and feels built for real use rather than display. The blade has good forward weight, a thick spine, and a convex grind that inspires confidence for general utility and chopping tasks. Balance in hand feels natural and controlled.

The handle construction is solid, with a long bone ferrule and hardwood sections that are tightly fitted and comfortable to grip. Everything feels secure with no looseness, and the materials and finish reflect a traditional and practical approach.
The scabbard is beautiful and fits well. The included karda and chakmak are also nicely made.

Overall, this is an authentic, durable, and functional kukri that is well suited for everyday use and long term ownership.
